Ron : Now there’s a different evolution going on. Yeah. This pandemic phenomenon that occurred across the world produced a kind of necessary pause, the group did not squander that. The group looked deeply into it and took on another transformation from “We make each moment matter” to include “We care about what matters.“ Absolutely. Deeply, not just like a phrase. Yeah. Yeah. And talk to us about that part. 

Nicolas : The caring switch. I mean, I can say that that happened during the beginning of the pandemic, and through all those sessions we had, we viewed all those working groups, working sessions explaining and taking people on board, explaining what is care about. For me, that switch came at the right time because although I tend to see that human beings have a tendency to forget very easily things that happen. For me, it is very important to think back because if I look at the world now in the mind of many people around me, I can see that although the pandemic is far from being gone, in people’s minds, COVID is gone. 

We’re moving on. New Normal. On we go. I mean, we live with it.But at the same time, what we went through last year when people were in very much hardship, people had no food, people had a lot of problems. I think we should not forget what happened. I think it’s something that I teach my kids every day. 

Even last night we’re having a conversation about what we really care about, and what type of person you should be and what it means to care. Because going back to our company, I think the level of service when we invented, when Paul invented or created, rather the word “shining service”, I think if there and then already shining service for me was care because we tried to put such a level of Personalized service, getting close to the guest, getting under his or her skin. I think in a way we were already halfway…

Ron: Yeah. You were.You were. In other words, to do a shining level of service there needs to be such an attention to the well-being of the other that what I would do produced a shining, not about me shining, you’re the one who’s shining. We’re shining together here. So, yeah, there were already, there was this caring happening there. But that was for guest experience. Then it became something much wider in the culture itself as it is today.

Nicolas: So yeah, so now we see it’s caring about the people around us, caring about the community, caring about basically each and every aspect in or out of our business.

Ron: And our lives, and our lives. Yeah, we’ve seen that also where people learn so much about service and then the next thing you know, they say, you know, I use this at home. True, true. Then caring exists already in the home space. 

There’s this lovely sense of community evolving hereOne of the things I’m most proud of when I tell people about LUX*and the way you are integrated with the communities, not just present in the community, but genuinely there’s this flow of attention and resources and humans and lives back and forth.
