Ron Kaufman was inducted this week into the Ultimate (Frisbee) Hall of Fame as one of the “Johnny Appleseeds” who first took the game from their high schools and formed college teams. Ron was co-founder and captain of the Brown University Ultimate Team (now named Brunonian Motion). More than 5.2 million people now play the game all over the world.
Ron continued his “Johnny Appleseed” tradition, bringing Ultimate to countries of Europe, the former Soviet Union, and China.
Today, while on their frequent scuba diving vacations, Ron and his wife Jen are encouraging the development of the first Ultimate Teams and National Championships in the Maldives.
